Forum Downloader allows downloading forums and blogs for offline view, search and archive.

If the forum structure is not detected automatically, you can improve detection by defining some scan strings for undetected entities (first, see what the program detects without changing any settings). It has defaults for most popular forum softwares, with options to define other forum structures.

It is single threaded, the idea is to download the forum not to attack it. The program should "browse" the forum like a normal user with a normal browser traversing all threads and thread pages (User-agent emulation is supported). Forum Downloader 2.00 can parse login forms and it can use proxies.

Threads can be saved in different formats, file names have assigned a unique incremental topic identifier and are named by topic's name, they are saved in directories named by forum's name that also have an incremental identifier, sub-forums are saved in sub-directories. It should not download same file twice unless the link has something different in it. All posts from all pages can be saved as separate files or merged in one big table or text file and saved in a single file per topic.         On some forums it should auto-detect multi-page sub-forums, sub-sub-forums etc., topics, posts, authors, attachments, HTTP redirects, and more. It will also download external images, full-size images linked by thumbnails from servers like imageshack.us or postimage.org and attachments, and link them to be viewed offline if it finds them. Posted messages can be scanned for http (and variations like "hxxp", "xttp", "h**p", etc.) / https / ftp / dchub / adc links and external links found (like rapidshare.com links) can be downloaded using download macros (an editor and a HTTP debugger are included to make this task easier). This should allow an easy and fast offline search by filename or content in downloaded forum data.         License: Academic Free License (AFL).
